Diana's Tours


Diana is the lecturer accompanying Cox & Kings’ Royal Academy Art Tours to Iran, Morocco, Uzbekistan and Mughal India. Her tours are enriched with lectures that bring history to life by weaving a continuous narrative encompassing the artefacts, ruins and architecture of each destination.

The Golden Road to Samarkand
In the heartland of Central Asia lie the magnificent cities of the ancient Silk Road. Samarkand, the city of Tamerlane, stands noble and colossal displaying dazzling blue domes which rise majestically above intricately decorated drums. Bukhara, renowned for Islamic scholars and artists, is laden with a thousand years of the most breathtaking and sublime architecture in Central Asia. Khiva is a jade green city, whose buildings display exquisite arabesque tiles, carved wood columns and ceilings of spiralling multicoloured stalactites. Nukus, the city that hid the second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art from the Soviets, displays the collection at the Karakalpakstan Museum.

Iran: Persian Palaces & Gardens

Morocco: Kasbahs, Palaces & the Sahara
Morocco, with its famous medieval mosques and citadels, is truly the jewel of North Africa and exudes a sense of living history. What’s more, this fascinating destination, set amid the backdrop of the stunning Atlas mountains and the shimmering Atlantic, features remains and reminders of numerous civilisations. Venture off the beaten track to the Rif mountains and Sahara desert, visiting Morocco’s most renowned historical attractions and many lesser-known gems.
